In almost all applications for F-1, H-1A, H-1B, J-1, O-1, P-1 & P-2 visas, the INS requires that the applicant holds an equivalent to at least a US Bachelor’s Degree. In addition, even Green Card Lottery Winner’s must show at least an equivalent of an American High School Diploma and/or minimum two years experience as a skilled worker. We provide credential evaluation reports for all employment based visa applications.
The H1B Visa is one of the most sought after temporary non-immigrant visas, as it allows qualified foreign workers entry into America for the purpose of undertaking employment. For the H1b visa you need the equivalent of a US high school diploma and bachelor's degree, and your education must meet the job requirements. A US high school diploma goes to grade 12. If you have primary and secondary school to grade 12, that is generally equivalent to a US high school diploma. If you have a 4-year bachelor's degree from a government recognized university or college, that is generally equivalent to a US bachelor's degree. If you have less than 4 years of university study, you can combine progressive work experience in the field with university study - or use work experience only. Three years of progressive work experience in the field is equivalent to one year of US university study for H1b purposes. An evaluation showing an equivalency to a US bachelor's degree is required for the H1b visa unless your education was completed in the US.
Credential evaluation reports required by the USCIS for the above visas need to only show the equivalency statement of the diplomas/degrees along with brief information on the institution where the studies were completed and the course work. No credits and GPA’s are required to be shown in the report.
